Create a Blog

One of the best ways to generate targeted traffic for your website is to create a blog, update it regularly, and optimize it for search engines.

You have many options when it comes to creating a blog, but there are 2 in particular that are very popular among those who market themselves online:

1. www.wordpress.org or www.wordpress.com
2. www.blogger.com

After you have your blog set up, spend some time researching popular tags in your niche. To do this you can visit www.technorati.com, which indexes blogs. Once you do this, create several categories for your blog posts based on these popular tags with in your niche.

Once you have finished updating your blog, ping all of the blog directories by using this free services called www.pingomatic.com. Your new blog post will automatically be added to the categories on those sites for which you tagged it.

If you spend some time creating some high quality content, there is a good chance that visitors to these blog directories will recognize the good content, read it, and vote positively on it (if it has a social ranking system, such as Digg’s).

This can significantly expand the reach of your blog; and subsequently your website and products. It’s a win win for sure.
